Apr 20, 2023 · If you weren’t aware that EV startup Rivian (which makes the R1S SUV and R1T pickup) had a proprietary 200-kilowatt DC fast-charging network, you’re not alone.The Rivian Adventure Network has only about 30 locations in the U.S. now (not all of them operational), and according to a company map, the great majority of them have followed EV deployment and are on the West Coast.
The map provided by Rivian indicates that the number of sites – especially DC fast charging – is relatively low. We counted just about 60 DC charging sites, all installed only in the U.S.If you have home charging then I would use ABRP as it will tell you exactly when to leave the charger. Assuming the charger is not limiting power output it makes sense to charge up to 80% if needed. Anything above 80% is pretty slow. They also have Rivian as a vehicle option for automatically setting the plug filters. You can then further filter by network and kW rating to eliminate slow/overly expensive options.
